Position Summary

The Product Designer utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) systems to design new standard and custom products, execute design changes to existing standard products, and modernize our product development operations.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Provides engineering deliverables, including but not limited to: drawings, submittals, and other technical data. Develops content, including but not limited to: standard details, catalogs, and various marketing content as necessary. Creates user stories, process workflows, and data models to support configuration development.

  • Performs parametric modeling in CAD or CAE systems to generate product designs. Works in the Product Data Management Software (PDM) to develop and support workflows, as well as product structure and bill of material management

  • Maintains organization of multiple projects and revisions simultaneously. Regularly communicates project status with managers and Jensen Precast branch representatives. Maintains archives of engineering documentation and data for projects.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated CAD experience. Other desired qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 1 year of modeling in Autodesk Inventor, or similar 3D modeling software

  • Knowledge of drafting protocols and standards, required

  • Template modeling and/or CAD Automation experience preferred

  • Associate degree preferred

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Email, Spreadsheet, Word Processor)

  • Strong communications skills including both verbal and written communication
