Position Summary

This position is responsible for implementing, administering, and improving environmental programs, improving the site safety culture, assisting management in environmental activities, and ensuring operations follow local, state, and federal environmental regulations at all Jensen Precast operating locations. This position will assist the Vice President of EHS in support of O&M teams, to maintain a culture where employees at all levels understand environmental processes and are committed to maintaining a safe and environmentally compliant work environment.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Manages the implementation of all environmental programs to ensure a safe environment and compliance with environmental standards and best practices.

  • Manages and guides environmental incident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.

  • Supports regional and facility environmental staff to implement and drive the company’s environmental compliance and safety culture.

  • Ensures existing permits and programs are compliant with regulatory agencies.

  • Formulates and maintain regulatory database and compliance tracking systems.

  • Provides technical expertise and support for the environmental system to facility managers, safety committees, and technicians.

  • Reviews design documents for compliance with environmental permits and commitments

  • Provides support, oversight and tracking for required environmental/regulatory training programs

  • Conducts environmental inspections of facilities.

  • Supports development and administration of incident investigation programs and corrective actions.

  • Supports the design and development of environmental training; maintains oversight of training records and corrective action follow-up. Occasionally presents training material.

  • Must be able to travel between 50% & 70% of time (western states).

Qualifications

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess demonstratedexperience in environmental compliance, preferably in an industrial environment.

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or environmental sciences or equivalent related work experience.

  • A minimum of 5-years environmental experience preferably associated with geothermal power plants or mining operations.

  • Prior supervisory experience or relevant role.

  • Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications. Must be proficient in MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, and use of the Internet.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to perform the job duties safely and efficiently.

  • The ability to work well individually or in a team-oriented environment.

  • Must have organizational skills, a focus on details, quality control, and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities quickly according to circumstances.

  • Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Jensen Precast’s auto insurance carrier.
