Position Summary
The Shop Manager is based at our Fontana operation, and reports to the General Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities of fleet maintenance technicians at Jensen Precast plant operation in Fontana, California. The selected candidate will ensure all maintenance work is completed in a timely and orderly fashion. He/she will demonstrate a service first attitude while maintaining fiscally responsible behaviors in planning/scheduling maintenance, working with external vendors / suppliers and managing on-site tools, equipment, and spare parts.
Salary Range based in Fontana area:
Base Salary: $87,000.00 to $95,000.00 Annually
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Principle Accountabilities
Provides direct supervision to maintenance mechanics to ensure the process of equipment repairs, rapid turnaround of equipment and quality assurance/control procedures are in place and functioning properly.
Reviews completed work for timeliness, completeness, accuracy, and quality.
Evaluates and implements employee training, shop safety program/OSHA standards, tool inventory and accountability procedures, and inspections and certifications.
Develops and reviews training requirements for mechanics to keep pace with the maintenance requirements of new equipment.
Make recommendations to the General Manager for short and long-term solutions to issues discovered in the operations.
Understanding and proficiency in fleet maintenance programs.
Maintains fleet maintenance programs for accuracy, manages staffs' KPI within program.
Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of company’s assets.
Qualifications
Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated history of success fleet maintenance teams, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience with multi-site & multi-state operations (especially California) is required. Additional candidate attributes include:
Five to seven years’ experience leading fleet maintenance teams.
Strong knowledge of fleet equipment, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer needs.
Knowledge of relevant equipment, practices, and strategies to promote effective and safe operations for the protection of employees and property.
Excellent communication skills to receive and convey information effectively: oral and written expression, oral and written comprehension, speech clarity.
Understanding of OHSA, EPA, DOT regulations to ensure compliance.
Knowledge of RTA maintenance software preferred.
P&L experience.
Demonstrate abilities to build and continuously motivate highly effective teams.
Mechanical knowledge and experience.
